I got it to work... kinda. If too many balls are in the top bucket they are likely to stack and not go into the turnstile, but other than that it works. Here is the video!

Final Project Idea
For my final project I would like to extend the previous project Idea but instead of controlling a camera the user is controlling an avatar through a maze. The maze would be constructed using the array of wooden blocks with wall being represented by raised blocks and paths by lowered blocks. As the user traverses the maze, using basic up, down, left, right movement, the blocks would raise and lower according to changes in position. The avatar would appear in the middle of the grid and the scene, array of blocks, would change as if following him with a fixed camera, leaving the avatar in the middle of the scene.
Project #3 Idea
My idea for project is to be able to view a height-map of an image in the physical world using adjustable wooden blocks. You would place an image underneath a camera that is controllable in the x and y directions and the camera would capture a greyscale image. Using this data you would control the height of an array wooden blocks using actuators. This array would then represent the "terrain" of the given image.

Project #2 Idea
My idea is a room that responds to the gathering of people. The floors would be tiles that would print text from interesting tweets and news feeds. When there are no people around it a tile would scroll the text at a quick pace, but as people gather around it the text would scroll slower and slower allowing it to be read easily. Also the text would start off as black on a grey background and would grow 'hotter' as the ambient noise around the tile grew louder. Altogether, what I am hoping is that people would gather around 'interesting' tiles like camp fires.

Project #1 Idea
My idea was to create a sky-like scene indoors. I would fill a space with white balloons of various diameters fitted with micro-controllers that controlled an RGB LED located in the base or middle each balloon. The blue LED would glow brighter the closer it was to the ceiling. The green LED would glow brighter the closer it was to other balloons. The red LED on the balloon would grow brighter the closer it was to the 'sun' balloon. The 'sun' balloon would be a larger balloon that you could move around the room. Some balloons would have helium and some would not so those that coalesced on the ground looked like grass and those that coalesced on the ceiling would look like clouds and you could make the sun rise and set by moving around the 'sun' balloon.
